TAPS Creating the Plan

TAPS provides environmental companies and consultants who have sample collection field teams, with the ability to plan, coordinate and optimise their collections in advance.

TAPS has been designed so that new projects can be set up swiftly and on-going work can be copied forward to future periods - weeks, months or years.

The process starts by importing sites, locations and analysis data into TAPS from an Excel spreadsheet. Whether a one-off sampling event or one requiring complex collection rules, TAPS will organise the planned field tasks in the most efficient manner.

Having set up the plan for all locations, the manager can modify, change dates and realign collections using drag-and-drop with a mouse from a range of calendar views allowing the plan status to be viewed at a glance.

Benefits

Set up New Projects Quickly

New projects are easy and quick to set up in TAPS. New work is slotted into the existing plan to ensure sensible geographical rounds. If the work is of a commercial nature, job numbers and contract values can be assigned allowing the manager to view the status of a customer’s project.

Organise Complex Collection Frequencies

TAPS has the facility to set up a wide range of different collection frequencies. Preferences of when to collect can be specified or alternatively the system can randomly choose the actual collection date within the bounds of the chosen rule. For field quality control samples, random selection or pseudo-random patterns can also be defined.

Additional Analysis

Many collection requirements require a regular analysis with additional tasks on a less frequent basis. TAPS allows you to define these rules as well as specify different purposes for the additional analysis or task.

Manual Adjustments to the Plan

Manual adjustments to the plan are inevitable. Visits can be amended using drag-and-drop with a mouse on a calendar. Ad hoc samples can be added to the plan and aligned to the next planned visit.
